Over 100 professionals and corporates came to the Thorpe Park Hotel to find out who were the winners of Insider's second Growth 100 awards.
All 100 companies that were included in Insider's Growth 100 list, published in our September issue and based on turnover growth going back five years, were eligible for awards intended to reward the best companies in Yorkshire - and those who run them.
The lunch event saw Deep Sea Electronics, a manufacturer of generator systems based in Hunmanby, carry off the Gold Medal or grand prix award. It had already won the International award, after opening two offices overseas - one in Illinois and one in Bangkok - in three years.
The Vistage International Award for Business Leadership went to Steve Parkin of Brighouse-based logistics Clipper Group, a man described as charismatic yet modest.
In a change from convention, the Innovation Award went to a company that has innovated in staff development rather than technology. MKM Building Supplies, based in Hull, allows every individual branch manager in its network to take a 25 per cent stake in that branches business, to incentivise their performance.
The Rising Star Award, for businesses with a turnover of over £10m, went to Rural Solutions, a Skipton-based consultancy that has been specialising in regenerating redundant buildings in rural estates.
Finally the Growth 100 Award - for the company that came top of the list overall - went to Rotherham-based motor services company MS Vehicle Management.
