Like it or not, debt management and sub-prime finance businesses are an important part of the financial services economy in the North West, just as no-win no-fee accident claims processors and mobile phone resellers are. They might not grace the glossy brochures that Liverpool and Manchester's marketing gurus hand out at international investment events like MIPIM, but they employ a lot of people and, ironically, have created a lot of personal wealth. Rupert Cornford examines this phenomena, while the magazine also breaks bread with the region's highest profile chef - Paul Heathcote.

The magazine also features an exclusive interview with Andrew Tinkler, who tells all on his plans for the Eddie Stobart fleet of cult trucks.

June 2008

Insider’s June issue takes on a green hue, with a cover story highlighting the positive business strategies that can be employed to tackle energy security and environmental good practice. The magazine also looks at the 100 fastest growing companies in the region in the annual Growth 100 feature. In the big interview Insider’s Rupert Cornford meets Owen McLaughlin, chief executive of Enterprise plc.

August 2008

August 2008

This month’s issue of the award-winning Insider business magazine is dedicated to China. Articles include an interview with Manchester-based businessman Gerry Yeung, a guide to doing business in China and, as we look to the next Olympics, David Conn reports on the dim prospects for North West businesses seeking Olympic contracts.

September 2008

September 2008

The month’s Insider contains the North West Rich List. After years of continued growth in the wealth of the richest people in the region, we track this year’s decline. The list is compiled by Philip Beresford, the UK’s leading authority on wealth and wealth creators and compiler of the Sunday Times Rich List. But, while we have recorded a sharp decrease in accumulated wealth, there are grounds for optimism. And the magazine looks at the fortunes of Nichols, owner of fruity drink Vimto, and forecasts a recovery for corporate finance in the final quarter of the year.

October 2008

October 2008

October’s Insider focuses on the new breed of entrepreneurs in our 42 Under 42, a staple of Insider since 1991. We also look at one of the region’s most inspirational business leaders – John Whittaker, owner of Peel, who Insider met on a rare public forum aboard a boat on the Manchester Ship Canal. And we examine how businesses in the region have lost interest in joining the stock markets.
